ABOUT

my name is bron and I am a self taught textile artist, with a background in architecture. I hope to make objects that have a developed sense of craft and vision.

I am a settler on unceded land that belongs to the traditional territories of the Lekwungen/Songhees, Te'mexw Treaty Association, Á,LEṈENEȻ ȽTE (W̱SÁNEĆ), and Coast Salish nations. I am grateful to be here as a visitor and hope to honor the people who this land rightfully belongs to.

  • each design is intended to stand on its own. they are release in small collections that come from a cohesive idea, but each piece is unique, and each design will only be made once.

  • I use two different streams to source fabric. The first option is that I source fabric is made of natural fibers, that are certified with a combination of GOTS, BCI or OEKO-TEX for cotton textiles. These certifications cover a variety of social issues, including treatment of workers, sustainable farming, absence of harmful dyes and chemicals. If I am buying new fabrics I will buy them with the highest certification possible, and note for each item what the relevant certifications are.

Alternatively (for non-cotton fabric) I am sourcing deadstock. Deadstock is fabric that was commissioned by brands who then decide to discard it, or find no commercial use for it. By using deadstock you can eliminate waste product from the fashion industry from going to landfills.

  • i do it all. i produce the designs for the applique work, do the hand sewing and beading for the appliques, source the fabric, pattern the garments, cut and sew the garments, package and sell them.

  • these pieces are intended to cast a wide net for what gender presentations these pieces work for. The intention is for these pieces to fit a variety of bodies, and I include the information for how these will fit on a variety of people. If you want a piece, and are concerned that they arent size appropriately for your body, I am happy to discuss making larger scale items available on a case by case basis. Contact me directly for more information.

  • Ideally, these pieces are worn often and are loved by the people that buy them. For all pieces, because they contain complex applique work, there are specific laundry instructions for how you keep these pieces looking their best. Please refer to the laundering instructions for each piece, and when in doubt, treat it delicately and just don't put it in a dryer.
